Randy Hahn, who’s expected to call his 1,000th Sharks game in December, describes the play-by-play action for Sharks games on Comcast SportsNet California. Hahn, who enters his 17th full season with the club, served in the same capacity on selected telecasts during San Jose’s first two seasons (1991-93).

Hahn has more than 30 years of sports broadcast experience, including a unique first assignment when he was just 16 years old — calling the “paw-by-paw” action of a dog sled race in the Yukon Territory in 1974. He continues to be a versatile broadcaster, having done play-by-play on television and radio, anchoring radio sports shows and serving as television studio host for various sports programs. Hahn became the interim co-host of San Francisco CBS-5’s “Evening Magazine” in February 2005, working alongside popular Bay Area personality Malou Nubla.
